S2 Event: The Lonely Island All-Dayer
We are proud to present a special all day event dedicated to the greatest trio in TV/Web Series/Film/Fake Rap history: The Lonely Island.
On 12th March at Gorilla, we will celebrate the Incredibad trio behind some of the internet’s biggest viral videos such I’m on a Boat, Dick in a Box and I just Had Sex; in addition to Saturday Night Live’s Digital Shorts, some of SNL’s best sketches and two of the greatest, side-splitting comedy films of the past decade.
First up at our all-dayer will be a special 10th anniversary screening of the guy’s feature film debut HOT-ROD which tells the hilarious tale of the worst stuntman ever and his record (and bone) breaking attempt to jump 15 buses. Second up is a special feature length, relentlessly ludicrous slot curated by Pilot Light featuring some of The Lonely Island’s best internet videos, SNL sketches and other redonk clips. We close our all-dayer with bringing last year’s POPSTAR: NEVER STOP NEVER STOPPING back to the big screen! Despite universal critical acclaim, the guy’s second feature film, a pop mockumentary which follows a Justin Bieber type played by Samberg only had a very small release in the UK; so we’re excited to give audiences another chance to catch last year’s funniest film on the big screen again!

“If Jackass, Napoleon Dynamite, and the Saturday Night Live viral video "Lazy Sunday" had a love child, "Hot Rod" would be it, in all its dumb, dirty glory”. – Heather Boerner
Rod Kimble is a slacker living in a small US town with his mom, his younger brother, and his stepfather whose respect he craves. He also misses his dead dad, whom he thinks was Evel Knievel's back-up. Rod, a man-child, believes that he is a stunt man. When his stepfather needs an operation, with help from his brother and his slacker pals, Rod hatches a plan to set a school-bus-jumping record on his moped. First, his crew and he have to raise money to rent the buses and build the ramp. Trouble is, Rod's inept at his chosen career. Looming failure is complicated by the return of Denise, Rod's next-door neighbor and secret heartthrob, who is home from college. Is public humiliation at hand?
POPSTAR: NEVER STOP NEVER STOPPING
“An absolute blast, with a frenetic strike-rate and songs that will worm their way into your ears for days. Like Conner, this comedy’s for real.” – Empire Magazine
When it becomes apparent that his new album ConnQuest is a bomb, internationally renowned pop star Connor 4 Real does everything he can to save what's left of his career. Even if it means selling out or appearing on endless late night talk shows. But when the populace demands that he reunite his former band "The Style Boyz", Connor brushes off every attempt to do so. Even if that means reconnecting with the one former member who can make it all happen, but he is reluctant to do so. Can Connor clean up his act and make amends to reunite his crew? Or will his ego get in the way?
