10 years ago, on Channel 4, a new show aired that broke new ground on its portrayal of teenagers in an honest, heartfelt, sometimes hilarious and somewhat realistic way. Skins presented us with with a group of teens just about to leave school and the teenage issues they faced such as mental illness, teen sexuality, family pressures and so many more alongside their drug, booze and sex fuelled extra curricular activities which resulted in the coining of the phrase ‘Skins parties’ around the time.
10 years later, in September 2017, as another generation of teenagers head out in to the world, we celebrate the 10th Anniversary of Skins on the big screen at HOME! On September 10th we’ll be screening the first two episodes of the iconic show followed by a Q&A Panel that will discuss the show and it's huge impact across television.
Joining us at the event will be series co-creator Bryan Elsley, the shows BAFTA award winning costume designer Edward K. Gibbons and more TBA.
Join us as we relive hazy memories of 2017, soundtracked by New Rave and fuelled by cheap cider.
