We are very excited to welcome The Digital Creators UK Writers Room back to Manchester as part of Pilot Light TV Festival Season 3!
Our Festival Partners DCUK are an informal group of web series and online video creators and producers that have been running this educational event for creators in London and we are very pleased to be partnering with them for another Manchester writers room.
Too many series get made without valuable expert advice that can turn a good script into a great script; this event provides real-life examples and insight for how to improve your short form script before you even enter production.
In the Writers Room, actors perform scripts submitted by local creators in a live table read in front of a panel of screenwriting experts, who then present feedback along with comments and questions from the live event audience. Our panel of experts for this edition of Writers Room features Andrew Burrell (Lead Writer on CBBC’s Dangermouse & Writer for Matt Groening’s Disenchanted) and Dana Bruce (Production Coordinator for Warp Films, CBBC and Netflix).
If you are a writer/creator of a web series currently in development and based in Manchester and the North West we are looking for your scripts for this event!
Writers are encouraged to send an 8 page max web series episode script for their series in development.
Script Submissions should be sent to Vicky Howell at firstname.lastname@example.org with Subject Line: 'PLTV Fest Writers Room'.
Final deadline for script submissions is 18th April 2017.
Event is due to take place on Friday 4th May, 10am at HOME, Manchester.
