Hello fellow TV fans! Festival Director Greg Walker here with an update on the festival and Season 5 going forwards.
As you'll remember we took the decision to postpone back in March, anticipating the effects of COVID-19 to the events industry and society overall, that was still the best decision for the festival. We optimistically announced that we'd be aiming to bring the festival back in August but as you'll likely have guessed, that isn't possible. All of our venues are still rightfully closed until September at the earliest and in all honesty, there is still a pandemic spreading so it isn't the safest idea for our audiences or staff.
There are a plethora of issues that restrict us from moving the physical festival further back in 2020 including funding, prior staff commitments, the state of the TV industry and capacity restrictions to name a few.
With all of that in mind, we are excited to announce that we'll still be bringing S5 to you, albeit through the magic of streaming!
We are proud to present Season 5: The Digital Special! 2 days of the best in new TV Pilots and Web Series, curated by us, streamed straight to your home!
We're unable to bring you our festival in the traditional manner but we're very excited to bring you an eclectic selection featuring 23 of the best new independent series from around the world, available to watch from August 15th-16th with some surprises soon to be revealed.
Full screening schedule to be announced very soon. Our Competition Screening lineup can be found here.
